Can someone please help me regarding a oil filter for a 1941 Oliver 70?!! I have the canister (cartridge) type oil filter, and can't find the correct filter to replace, any ideas on what brand/part # this tractor takes? What is in there now is a Napa 1126, but napa advises this is discontinued, no other filter to replace. Also Wix and other brands show it will work, but the filter needs to have the 1/2" indentation on the bottom of oil filter cartridge for the top canister cap to seal with the canister. The Wix 51006 is a match, but again without the indentation, cartridge sits to high.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you,Todd

Cant go to your local Agco dealer and get one? If I remember correctly we have a Super 88 that the only place to get a filter is the dealer.

I have Agco looking (been several days), as of now, nothing they can find. I also just learned this morning, this is a canister cartridge filter, but it is a add on, and is called a remote filter, that has the 2 oil lines from the block to the canister. Will see what else we come up with, I didn't think it would be this tough on finding a filter. Thank you for the reply!

Can't actually say that I have ever been around a 70, oldest we have is a 77 gasser. Might be possible though to get a mount to replace the original with a spin on filter like the supers used. Or, you could get a remote filter base like used on a car or truck to move the filter to a remote location, then could use a spin on like a Fram PH8A or a Wix 1515.

Got it figured out. The canisters were not used on the 70, you had the choice of a no filter system or a add on, which was a spin on base. For some reason this remote filter was added and not a spin on, but it is a oldie, as it has on the canister AC. The Wix 51010 filter will work, and I also found an original Oliver base spin on to mount to the block and use a spin on for a back up. Thanks for the help!
