I bought a 1650 last spring. I have been having problems with my hydraulics. I have a loader on the tractor and when I try to lower it, the whole whole loader jumps or kinda pulsates. It comes down but not nice and smooth. If I run the tractor at full throttle, it is a lot smoother until I put a load in the bucket, then it bounces again. The bucket rolls down and up smoothly but the main loader doesn't. Also, If I lower the loader and at the same time roll the bucket up, the bouncing stops and everything is smooth. Any help would be great. One more thing, my bucket cylinders don't hold a load, they begin to sag with the tractor running or not. The loader cylinders hold just fine. Also, is this tractor closed or open center hydraulics. Thanks for the help.

First of all it is open center. You need to adjust your restrictor on the loader circuit to start with. In theory you want to use hydraulic force to push the loader down. When you tell me that the problem is not so severe at higher speed and then with weight in the bucket you are telling me your oil is leaving the base end on the cylinder too fast. On your bucket cylinders, either the valve in the tractor leakings oryou need a seal kit in the cylinder. I am not the brightest one on this form but it would be nice if you told us what kind of loader you have also a serial number of the tractor might help since there were changes in the hydraulic units. Questions?

Thanks for the help, one problem though. The restrictor is already turned all the way in. Can these wear out, and then need to be replaced. Oh and the loader is not an Oliver, it's a Massey Ferguson loader, all cylinders are new. I had a guy tell me that the centering spring for the hydraulic valve is probably worn out, that would be why the bucket sags. Ever heard of something like that. Thanks again.
