Just bought a Lull 7C2-31 lift (s/N:2510) for work on my barn. I know that they frequently had Oliver bases but am having a hard time finding much info on these machines. Here is what I have been able to see (many layers of paint so not easy). On engine block by starter: 185320 and 160918A. On transmission by shift lever 160-404A. Note: seems like transmission and axel casings all have similar nomenclature on them.
On support below gas tank on a plaquard: 555-710203 and 232-136-905. On the torque converter: Funk Manufacturing Co. and looks like RC-3162 (can't swear to that).

Friend said this was a Chrysler engine (straight 6). Any and all info and/or pointers to sources of manuals would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is an Oliver. There is one vary similar to it about 15 miles from here. It is a `1550 engine and transmission. If it is like the one down the road from here you can see where the three point lower links would attach. There are soft plugs in these holes in your application.
Questions?

Thanks! 'Afraid the questions will be very basic to start. I was able to get some answers immediately from the fluids chart on this site.

For starters - what is the proper level for the gearbox oil?

It looks like there is a short right-angle level tube just above the right axle and I can just see oil if I look down from the filler plug by the shift lever.

Am I correct in assuming that the torque converter wants to be warm before I check on the Dexron level?

Just finished chaning out the hydaulic oil (coffee with cream color and musty) and am starting work on the steering train. Mostly maintenance that has not been done in quite some time...

Thanks John. andy "at" cwrmarketing.com 603.654.9831 I list the email that way to (hopefully) avoid more spam.

FYI the hydraulics I mentioned are a seperate system for the forklift, run from a pump mounted off the "front" of the engine (remembering that tractor is mounted backwards in the frame).
