Hello. A local guy has an Oliver 1555 for sale. It seems to be in good condition. Any info on reliability of this model and anything to look out for. He is firm at $5000. 1974 model. Hours ???. Meter stopped at 3700. Gas. No smoke. New front tires and rims. Needs rear tires. No toplink. Thanks Paul

This is a very reliable unit. Check the hitch mounts where they bolt into the sides to the transmission housing. They can come loose and break off, and wear on the holes as well. Check the hydra power for burnt looking and smelling oil. Other than that, the usual checks and test drive.

As to the price, it seems a little high to me, especially needing new rear tires. Around my area, gas tractors that size don't sell for as much as diesels. I would say somewhere around $3000 to $4000 would be more reasonable. If it were diesel with good rears, then I think that it would be worth around $5000.
