My father-in-law has an Oliver row-crop 60. The hubs are stuck on the splined hubs, and he wants to remove them. Have tried lubricants and a gear puller with no luck. Would it be too hard (or disastrous) to remove the axle assembly and put it in a hydraulic press to get them off? He wants to put on original steel wheels for a summer show. Thanks, Chuck tetherow@gpcom.net |

I used a chisel to open up the gap on the hub and was then able to get the hubs off. Pulling the axles wouldn't be too hard, just remove the tranny cover, ake the snap ring off the end of the axle, unbolt the axle housing from the tranny housing, and there axle should come off. Getting it in a press may be a bit of a trick. |
