My girlfriend's father runs a dairy farm operation between Maria Stein and Minster, Ohio. On the farm there used to be a smaller family-operated sawmill. They have just recently tore down this building. They used an Oliver 199 Power Unit, 6-cylinder gas, to run a belt that turned the 5ft diameter blades that they used to rip the logs with. her father knows very little on the engine. He thinks that it was put into place new around 1954-1955. It has been up ther up until this past month where it is now in his machine shed. The engine runs fine at this time and all of the sheet metal housing is still intact with all of the original paint and decaling. He has been told that there was only around 70-80 of these power units ever made, and he is looking to verifty this, or get the correct answer. He is also looking at what something like this would be worth. Any information, or the names or means of someone else who might know would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for anything you are able to put forth. I will have a serial number for the engine by this weekend.
