Chris, an update on my Hydraulic dilemma, (see bottom of the page). I put my disk on and disked two garden spots and lost the hydraulics again.
The same shop came out and picked up the tractor again. This is the third time they have worked on it. 1) needed rebuilding 2)pump blew up (warranty work as it was installed wrong) 3)still waiting to here the final verdict on this one, but they think the housing is cracked as lower unit is full of Hydro fluid, fluid coming out of the axle breather. Any suggestions/advice for me?

GKnowlton,

You MUST install a relief valve on that plate you have installed on the side of the hydraulic cover.
The factory aux valve had a relief valve in it. I've seen homemade plates on the side before, and those that did not include a relief valve always had blown pumps. All you have to do to blow a pump is just hit the end of travel on your cylinder.

Mark is right on with his answer. That's why I was asking previously what kind of remote valve you have. If it does have a built in relief, check what it is set for. Also have the shop check the relief valve that is internal for the three point hitch system.

Mark/Chris

My cover plate does have a relief valve, spring loaded built into it. My control valve also has a relief valve on it, I also have heard as you mentioned that there is a PTO relief valve. I will have the shop check all of them.
I was aware of the pump blowing without relief but I thought I avoided that with buying the equipment that I did. Cover plate was bought at Miabachs and is supposed to work.
