I am curious about the plowing ability (3 point)of the 550 Ollie versus a 9N ford. There is literally no comparison. Is it the weight difference? I ran fluid in the tires in the ford and I do not in the Ollie. The horsepower? my understanding is that there is 7hp difference. The speed? definitely better gear selection in an Ollie. I think for me it is the lugging ability and wider stance of the oliver that is making the difference. It has been dry in Wisconsin but I was stuck every week with the 9n not so with the Ollie. |

Better draft control on 550 would make a differance adjusting plow to conditions. 9N has 14 hp drawbar vs 550's 28 hp quite a difference when plowing. We used 3x12 cockshutt trail plow for years with a 550 diesel on loamy ground.
