do you use harder cotter pin or standard cotter pins,aftermarket chain pins from a&i use 7/64''in. cotter,acgo uses 3/32''in. cotter pins are these pins harder than standard pins,do they go in a special way ? some say if not harden they come out,please help,if it comes off it does not look like it would been good,thanks john |

Make sure you use one long cotter that goes through both holes so the pins do not spin and wear the pin out. I did not know you could easily get hard pins. |

From doing a few of them, the cotters that are supplied with the coupler seem much tougher to bend than most of the ones you would buy in one of those cute little plastic assortment box. When I got out of high school, I worked at a place that one of the owners sons had a sail boat and had quite a assortment of marine grade stainless steel cotter pins and those outlasted anything else but were next to impossible to get bent when installed and even worse to straighten to get out. |
