My dad read an old Oliver magazine article about how they used Oliver tractors and Cletracs in Hawaii to furrow up the hillsides so aircraft couldn't land there before Pearl Harbor was attacked. I found a quote in the Oliver Tractor book by Jeff Hackett and Sherry Schaefer that Rollin White owned a pineapple plantation in Hawaii. Does anyone have info on these bits of history? We are going to Hawaii and it would be great to find out if there's still some Oliver tractors or a Cletrac there that we could visit. It would also be nice to know where the plantation was. |
