I have a 770 Cockshutt tractor. The Metal tag below the Dash says Model 37-4363 and the Serial# says 131-248-723. The Engine Casting # reads 185220-F.....Can anybody tell me the year, horsepower, etc. I have checked around the net and found out a little info like the build date is between 1959-1967...Could someone decode the serial number if possible...Which # is year,# for engine size,#number for tranny etc.. Thanks in advance.

According to my serial number book, it is a 1963 model. The enigine was 216 cubic inches, and according the Nebraska Test #648, the 770 gas had a corrected maximum horsepower of 45.05 HP on the drawbar and 51.63 on the belt. I don't have a breakdown for the tranny code (which is in the model #). If you want the complete lowdown on the tractor, call the Floyd County Museum and have them pull your build card. There is a small fee for it, but it is worth it in my opinion. Call them at 641-228-1099. |
